The Marine – Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands within the framework of the CLUSTERING project, included in the INTERREG-MAC 2014 – 2020 program, satisfactorily passes the audit carried out by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analyses (ESCA), on October the 25, to obtain the Silver Label of the European Cluster Excellence Initiative (ECEI).

The evaluation by the auditor has been favourable after having verified key aspects such as the organizational structure, governance system, strategic plan, value chain, financial resources, services provided with added value and achievements.

The Excellence labels in Cluster Management, in its different categories – Bronze, Silver and Gold, work as an international recognised quality label and allow regional strategic groups position themselves in the European map of clusters and increase their visibility, offering the opportunity to establish contacts with European counterparts to develop joint initiatives and create synergies.

This distinction to the Marine – Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands, valid for two years, positively assesses the improvements undertaken and commitments made since obtaining the Bronze Label in February 2014 to strengthen its competitiveness and that of its companies.

The next challenge for the Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands will be to successfully accomplish the audit to obtain the following level with the Gold Label, for which, according to the evaluation of the ESCA audit, the Maritime Cluster of the Canary Islands is already prepared for.
