Canary Islands Maritime Cluster, within the framework of the actions foreseen in the INTERREG-MAC 2014-2020 projects: INTERPORT and SMARTBLUE participates on 12th February 2019, in Bilbao, in a meeting of Spanish Naval and Maritime Clusters. The aim of this meeting is to define a strategy of joint action to dynamise and promote the marine and maritime sector at national level in a coordinate manner. The meeting discussed the Agenda of the Naval Industry presented on 15th January by the Minister of Industry,Trade, and Tourism in Madrid, as well as the Special Register of Ships and Shipping Companies of the Canary Islands (REBECA) which requires a modification to adapt to that established in other European ports with special regimes such as the Canary Islands ( Madeira, Malta and Cyprus). As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to analyse the aforementioned sectoral agenda and propose improvements to the document, with a new meeting of this working group of naval clusters to be held on 5th April 2019 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on the occasion of the Mid Atlantic Ship Repair & Supply Summit.
